Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 11 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to products and orders placed with CaskCraft.

CaskCraft creates handcrafted furniture and accessories from authentic whisky barrels. Every piece is individually crafted and may therefore contain natural variations in colour, grain, markings and character.

2. Products

CaskCraft products are handmade from authentic whisky barrels and reclaimed oak.

Because natural and reclaimed materials are used, every product is unique. Differences in:

  • colour
  • grain
  • knots
  • cracks
  • markings
  • previous barrel branding
  • surface texture
  • signs of ageing

are inherent characteristics of the material and are not considered defects.

Product photographs are intended to give an accurate impression of the product. Due to natural materials and differences between screens, colours and details may vary slightly.

3. Product availability

Products shown on the website are subject to availability.

Because CaskCraft produces many items in limited quantities, a product shown on the website may no longer be available when you enquire.

We will confirm availability before an order becomes final.

4. Orders

CaskCraft does not currently operate a conventional online checkout.

Customers can contact CaskCraft to enquire about a product or place an order.

An order is only considered accepted once CaskCraft has confirmed the order, including the relevant product, price and any applicable delivery or collection arrangements.

5. Prices

All prices displayed on the website are stated in euros.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, prices include applicable VAT where required by law.

Additional costs, such as delivery or transport costs, will be communicated before the order is confirmed.

6. Payment

Payment arrangements are agreed before the order is completed.

Depending on the product and collection or delivery method, payment may be made by the payment method agreed with CaskCraft.

The applicable payment terms will be communicated when the order is confirmed.

7. Collection and delivery

Many CaskCraft products are intended for collection because of their size and weight.

If a product is available for delivery, the delivery method, costs and estimated delivery time will be agreed with the customer before the order is confirmed.

Delivery dates are estimates unless a specific delivery date has been explicitly agreed.

Once a product has been handed to a third-party carrier, delivery may be affected by circumstances outside CaskCraft's control.

8. Custom and made-to-order products

CaskCraft may produce custom or made-to-order products based on a customer's specifications.

This may include changes to:

  • dimensions
  • finish
  • configuration
  • materials
  • design
  • branding or engraving

Custom-made or personalised products may be excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal where the legal conditions for such an exception are met.

Before starting custom work, CaskCraft will confirm the relevant specifications and price with the customer.

9. Right of withdrawal

Where applicable under Dutch and European consumer law, consumers purchasing at a distance may have a statutory 14-day withdrawal period.

The withdrawal period and applicable exceptions depend on the circumstances of the purchase.

The statutory exception may apply to products that are made according to the customer's specifications or are clearly personalised.

If you wish to exercise a statutory right of withdrawal, please contact:

caskcraft@icloud.com

This section does not limit any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Returns

If a return is legally permitted, the customer must follow the return instructions provided by CaskCraft.

Returned products must be handled with reasonable care.

Unless otherwise required by law, the customer may be responsible for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product.

For large furniture pieces, CaskCraft will provide specific return instructions where applicable.

11. Damage during delivery

Customers should inspect a product as soon as reasonably possible after delivery or collection.

If a product arrives damaged, please contact CaskCraft as soon as possible and provide photographs of:

  • the product
  • the damage
  • the packaging, where applicable

This helps us investigate the issue and determine the appropriate solution.

This does not affect statutory consumer rights.

12. Warranty and legal guarantee

CaskCraft provides the statutory rights and legal guarantee applicable under Dutch law.

Products should be used for their intended purpose and according to any care or usage instructions provided by CaskCraft.

Natural characteristics of reclaimed whisky barrel wood, such as cracks, colour variation, knots, marks and changes caused by ageing, are not automatically considered defects.

13. Care and maintenance

Customers are responsible for following the care instructions provided with the product.

Because CaskCraft products are made from natural and reclaimed wood, environmental conditions such as humidity, temperature and direct sunlight can affect the material over time.

Normal changes caused by the natural behaviour of wood are not necessarily defects.

14. Complaints

If you have a complaint about a product or service, please contact us as soon as possible:

caskcraft@icloud.com

Please describe the issue clearly and, where relevant, provide photographs.

We aim to respond to complaints within a reasonable period and work with the customer to find an appropriate solution.

15. Intellectual property

All photographs, product names, logos, texts, designs and other original content published by CaskCraft remain the property of CaskCraft or their respective rights holders.

They may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or commercially used without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

16. Liability

CaskCraft will not be liable for damage resulting from use of a product contrary to its intended purpose or applicable care and usage instructions.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

17. Force majeure

CaskCraft is not responsible for delays or failure to perform an obligation where this is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Examples may include:

  • serious disruption to transport
  • natural disasters
  • government measures
  • supply chain disruptions
  • strikes
  • serious technical failures
  • other circumstances that cannot reasonably be prevented

Where possible, CaskCraft will inform the customer and seek a reasonable solution.

18. Applicable law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Dutch law.

Where the customer is a consumer, mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in the customer's country of residence remain unaffected.

19. Changes to these Terms & Conditions

CaskCraft may update these Terms & Conditions when necessary.

The version applicable to an order is the version that was made available to the customer before the agreement was concluded.
